How the ranking works Methodology, eligibility and quality checks
Public Facebook content from 13 monitored Sierra Leonean online news outlets, captured for each seven-day reporting period in Africa/Freetown time.
NES is the average number of likes, comments and shares earned per qualifying post: total interactions divided by published posts.
Outlets are ordered from highest to lowest NES. Video views and follower totals provide context but do not affect position.
All monitored outlets with usable data remain visible. Fewer than 10 posts is flagged as low volume so readers can interpret small-sample results cautiously.
Before publication, checks confirm outlet and date coverage, remove duplicates, validate required fields and URLs, and reject negative or malformed metrics.
Each completed week is validated, frozen and retained as the official historical result. Later dashboard updates do not recalculate prior standings.

Consistency wins the season
Each week awards 13 points for first place, 12 for second, down to 1 point for thirteenth. This sits alongside—rather than replaces—the weekly NES ranking.
